Main functions and responsibilities:

  • Promoting the policy of developing strategic partnership with the United States of America, and friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the North, Central and South American  countries, through working out proposals and recommendations based on the study of the ongoing processes and foreign policy directions in these countries;
  • Coordinating the activities and interaction between the executive authorities of Georgia, with a view to conducting a uniform course of cooperation with the Americas and respective international organizations;
  • Using diplomatic means for attracting foreign investments and technical assistance as well as for promoting the implementation of international and regional investment projects;
  • Preparing recommendations and proposals regarding the conclusion, implementation, suspension and termination of international treaties.
