H.E. Tamar Beruchashvili is a career diplomat with much experience in civil service, including twenty-two-year experience in working on Georgia's European integration issues. H.E. Tamar Beruchashvili has been granted a diplomatic rank of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. The new Foreign Minister was nominated by the Georgian Prime Minister, H.E. Irakli Gharibashvili. "Ms. Beruchashvili knows exactly what has to be done in our foreign policy; she knows exactly what tasks and challenges our country is facing, and knows how to efficiently pursue the course of our government. European and Euro-Atlantic integration is the choice of the Georgian people and our unwavering will, and Ms. Beruchashvili will make a significant contribution to achieving of this goal," the Georgian Prime Minister stated.

The new Foreign Minister underlined: "It is a great honour for me to serve my country as Foreign Minister in order to achieve Georgia's European and Euro Atlantic integration. I strongly believe that Georgia's future lies with a European future. Our current foreign policy is our national and existential choice. Georgian diplomacy will do everything to strengthen the country's partnership and co-operation with all its friends, to make new friends and to enhance security". Before being nominated as Foreign Minister, H.E. Tamar Beruchashvili served as the Deputy Foreign Minister between 2013 and 2014. She was also former the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations and the Deputy State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. H.E. Tamar Beruchashvili has the best academic experience. She is an Associate Professor at the Ilia State University. In the capacity of the visiting professor, she delivered lectures in different research centres and universities of Europe. H.E. Tamar Beruchashvili published numerous scientific works
