Diplomatic relations between Georgia and Republic of Iraq were established on September 18, 2007.

Fields of Cooperation

Cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Iraq has been developing in both bilateral and multilateral formats. In 2004 in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Georgian Embassy was established, which conducts diplomatic coverage of the Republic of Iraq. At the same time, the Republic of Iraq opened its diplomatic representation in Georgia in 2008. Embassies of two countries play important role in strengthening ties between the two countries.

Cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Iraq has been strengthening in the fields of economy, culture, sports, education and tourism. During the recent years amount of visitors from the Republic of Iraq to Georgia has been significantly risen.
