Chronology of Diplomatic Relations

Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Iraq were established on September 18, 2007.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Iraq (with residence in Amman)

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to Georgia

  • Bakir Ahmed Aziz Al-Jaff (14.06.2013 – 2015);
  • Taib Mohammed Taib (2010 – 2013).

Fields of Cooperation

Cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Iraq has been developing in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Georgian Embassy established in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 2004 conducts diplomatic coverage of the Republic of Iraq. At the same time, the Republic of Iraq opened its diplomatic representation in Georgia in 2008. Embassies play important role in strengthening of the existing friendly bilateral ties.

Cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Iraq has been developing in the fields of economy, education and tourism.
