Relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of Thailand

Chronology of Diplomatic Relations

Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of Thailand were established on 21 July 1992.

Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Thailand:

  • Nodar Komakhidze (1994-1997, with the residence in Ankara)
  • Tariel Lebanidze (1998-2004, with the residence in Ankara);
  • Grigol Mgaloblishvili (2004-2008, with the residence in Ankara);
  • Tariel Lebanidze (2009-2010, with the residence in Ankara);
  • Zurab Kachkachishvili (since November 1, 2011 to date, with the residence in New Delhi).

Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia in the Republic of India Levan Nizharadze will be also accredited in Kingdom of Thailand.

Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Georgia:

  • Suchitra Hiranprueck (1997-1999, with the residence in Moscow);
  • Vichien Chensavasdijai (1999-2000, with the residence in Moscow);
  • Rangsan Phaholythin (2001-2005, with the residence in Moscow);
  • Sorayouth Prompoj (2005-2008, with the residence in Moscow);
  • Suphot Dhirakaosal (2008-2009, with the residence in Moscow);
  • Kanya Chaiman (2009-2010, with the residence in Ankara);
  • Arbhorn Manasvanich (since February 4, 2010 to date, with the residence in Ankara).

Fields of Cooperation

In the recent period, bilateral relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of Thailand have been intensified. Official and working visits of the executive bodies as well the parliamentary delegations were conducted in Bangkok and Tbilisi. Cooperation in the field of economy is mainly developing.

Georgia is involved in the programs of Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA), which envisages trainings for specialists and experts in the various fields.
