The American congressmen have visited the Krtsanisi National Training Centre and the Kakheti region

Tbilisi, 29 August 2016 – Within the framework of their three-day official visit to Georgia, Duncan Hunter, Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California and Mark Sanford, Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from South Carolina visited the Krtsanisi National Training Centre where they were hosted by First Deputy Defence Minister Lela Chikovani.  
 
Commander of the NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JTEC) Colonel Grigol Chelidze provided a presentation of the Centre’s goals and objectives for the American guests, who also had the opportunity to visit the simulation centre.
 
Duncan Hunter and Mark Sanford also met the Georgian soldiers, who were wounded during their ISAF mission in Afghanistan and whom the American congressmen first met in San Diego where they underwent a rehabilitation course in the Balboa military hospital.
 
During their stay in Georgia, Duncan Hunter and Mark Sanford visited the Kakheti region where they saw for themselves Georgia’s tourism potential, wine producing traditions and Kakheti’s places of cultural and historical interest.
