Giorgi Kvirikashvili has held the meeting with Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

On the sidelines of the meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers, Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met his Turkish counterpart, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The two Ministers underlined the existing strategic partnership and close co-operation between Georgia and Turkey, inter alia, in international energy and transit projects; discussed the importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project and the current security environment in the region.   

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu reaffirmed his Government’s support for Georgia’s integration with the European Union and NATO. The Georgian Minister informed his colleague on the progress Georgia has achieved in the process of implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union, fulfillment of the annual Action Plan and implementation of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP).

The Ministers underlined the importance of trilateral co-operation between Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia and the recent successful dynamics.

In conclusion, Giorgi Kvirikashvili invited Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to visit Georgia to take part in the trilateral meeting.
