Edgars Rinkēvičs : “Latvia will spare no efforts to assist Georgia in implementing its Visa Liberalisation Action Plan”

“There are no grounds for delaying practical decisions to grant visa-free travel to Georgia. Georgia has taken all important steps and  Europe, for its part, should fulfil its promise immediately” - Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs is quoted as saying at the joint press conference following his meeting with his Georgian  counterpart, Foreign  Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
The Latvian Foreign Minister spoke about Georgia’s progress in various areas expressing the hope that the European Union will adopt a positive decision regarding Georgia’s visa liberalization. He also underlined the importance of continuing reforms in the political, economic and justice areas.
Edgars Rinkēvičs  paid special attention to the close and friendly relations between the two countries expressing the Latvian Government’s readiness to support Georgia’s membership of NATO.
