The Georgian Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba has presented his credentials to the Vice President of the State Council of Cuba

On 18 November 2015, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Cuba Giorgi Nikolaishvili presented his credentials to Vice President of the State Council of Cuba Salvador Valdés Mesa.

At the meeting following the presentation ceremony, the Vice President welcomed the decision of the Government of Georgia to open the embassy in Havana that will facilitate the further enhancement of relations between the two countries. Giorgi Nikolaishvili and Salvador Valdés Mesa also focused on the existing dynamics of bilateral relations and prospects of their development. After the meeting, the Georgian Ambassador laid a wreath at the Memorial of Cuban national hero José Martí.

Prior to the ceremony of presenting credentials at the Palace of the Revolution, on 16 November, Giorgi Kvirikashvili presented copies of his credentials to Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Ana Teresita González Fraga.
  
It should be noted that the Government of Georgia adopted a resolution to open the Embassy of Georgia in Havana on 26 March 2015, thus, the number of diplomatic missions of Georgia in Latin America and Caribbean Sea region increased to four.
