The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister has met the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia

On 19 November 2015, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Gigi Gigiadze met German Ambassador to Georgia Bettina Cadenbach.

Bettina Cadenbach informed Gigi Gigiadze on the training programmes planned by the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany for 2016, in which diplomats from different countries, including Georgia, can take part. Gigi Gigiadze, in turn, underlined that these programmes represent one of the major important components of assistance rendered by Germany in the process of development of Georgia’s statehood.

Discussions also focused on the process of Georgia’s European integration. Gigi Gigiadze positively assessed the second meeting of the European Union-Georgia Association Council held in Brussels, on 16 November 2015. Particular attention was paid to visa liberalisation with the EU and to the joint measures to be carried out under the Eastern Partnership in the near future.

Talking points also included organisational issues regarding the celebration of Germany-Georgia Friendship Year in 2017.
