Statement of the Georgian Foreign Ministry in reaction to the terrorist attacks committed in the Federal Republic of Nigeria

The Georgian Foreign Ministry strictly condemns the terrorist attacks staged by the Boko Haram terrorist group in Nigeria’s northeast Borno and Yobe states as well as in the central Nigerian city of Jos, which have left over 200 innocent people dead.

Georgia supports the Nigerian Government’s efforts aimed at strengthening stability and defeating violent extremism in the country.

Georgia voices its concern over the growing threats of terrorism in the world and expresses the hope that these challenges can be overcome through the joint efforts of the international community.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry conveys its condolences to the families of the terrorism victims and to the Nigerian people.
