Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia in reaction to the earthquake in Italy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia expresses its sorrow over the powerful earthquake that hit central Italy, the epicenter being at Ascoli, Amatrice, Accumoli and Rietti, in the vicinity of Perugia, and left several people dead and many others - wounded.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia conveys its condolences to the families of the disaster victims, as well as to the Italian government and people.

No Georgian citizens are among the dead and wounded after the earthquake, according to the latest reports.

The Embassy of Georgia to Italy remains in contact with the local authorities and in case of necessity will make a further statement.
