Informal meeting of EU-Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministers has been held in Bratislava

3.09.2016, Tbilisi – Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze took part in the informal meeting of EU-Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministers held in Bratislava at the initiative of Slovakia - the current presidency of the EU Council.
Within the framework of the meeting, the sides discussed Eastern Partnership prospects, the partners’ vision of bilateral relations, as well as the ways to strengthen co-operation between the EU-Eastern Partnership countries.
From the EU, the meeting was attended by High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini and Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.
Within the framework of the working visit to Bratislava, Mikheil Janelidze held bilateral meetings with the Foreign Ministers of France, Lithuania, Slovakia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Discussions during these meetings focused on important issues of co-operation between Georgia and the EU and the importance of concluding Georgia’s visa liberalization process in due time. The Foreign Ministers of the EU Member States reaffirmed unequivocally that Georgia fully fulfilled the requirements necessary for granting Georgia visa-free travel with the EU.
