“We are rather optimistic about the visa liberalisation with Georgia”

"We are rather optimistic about visa liberalisation with Georgia. We believe the European Commission will make an optimistic decision and we hope Georgian citizens will soon be able to travel to the EU without any visa”, Estonian Foreign Minister Marina Kaljurand stated at the press-conference held after the meeting with her Georgian counterpart Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

Marina Kaljurand underlined that the process of rapprochement with the European Union provides for carrying out numerous reforms and everyday dedicated work.

"It is very important for us to explain, to clarify all the reforms relating to the EU. We want our citizens to understand that this process is not easy to achieve and it needs everyday dedicated work.  We are rather optimistic about visa liberalisation with Georgia. We believe the European Commission will make an optimistic decision and we hope Georgian citizens will soon be able to travel to the EU without any visa. This is a very symbolic and, so to say, practical effort. The Estonian side, as well as the European Union, hope that at the beginning of the next year the issue of visa liberalisation will be resolved ", the Estonian Foreign Minister stated.
