​The Georgian Foreign Minister has met the delegation of U.S. congressmen

28.05.2017, Tbilisi – Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze hosted the delegation of the U.S. House of Representatives participating in the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Discussions focused on Georgia-U.S. partnership the U.S. side’s firm bicameral support for Georgia. The American congressmen reaffirmed their strong support for Georgia’s democratic development and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

According to Michael Turner, the head of the delegation and the former president of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the U.S. will continue to support Georgia and to recognize its progress.
Gerry Connolly, Co-chair of the Georgia Caucus at the U.S. Congress said that Georgia has achieved impressive transformation amid Russian occupation and that the U.S. stands ready to support Georgia’s efforts in this regard. 

The sides also highlighted the increasing dynamics of co-operation in bilateral and multilateral formats and the importance of deepening partnership. It was underlined that the U.S. attaches paramount importance to Georgia’s democratic and economic reforms and to its contribution towards ensuring regional and global security.
