David Zalkaliani has met with U.S. Senator Roy Blunt

05.04.2019, Washington – On 5 April, Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani met with U.S. Senator Roy Blunt. Discussions focused on U.S.-Georgia partnership that at its all-time high. The sides highlighted the important role of the U.S. Congress and the bipartisan support Georgia enjoys.
Highlighting the Georgian government’s efforts to further develop Georgia’s co-operation with the U.S. in the areas of defence, security and economy, the Georgian side updated the senator on the ongoing democratic and economic reforms in the country. Zalkaliani expressed his gratitude for the U.S. support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including through the consolidated appropriations acts adopted in support for Georgia.
Discussions also focused on the security environment in the region and gross violations of human rights in Georgia's occupied territories. The Senator condemned Russia's aggression against Georgia.
