David Zalkaliani has met with the Minister of International affairs and cooperation of Botswana

 On 3 June 2019, Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani met with Minister of International affairs and cooperation of Botswana Unity Dow, who is on a two-day official visit to Georgia.

At the meeting the sides discussed the issues of activation of relations in different spheres and underlined the importance of development of bilateral cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
In the course of the discussion, the prospects of deepening cooperation were discussed in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, culture and education.
At the meeting Davit Zalkaliani informed the Botswana about the situation in Georgia's peacekeeping policy and the situation in the occupied regions.
The Ministers emphasized the importance of deepening the legal base between the two countries and sharing Georgia's reformist experience for the batsman.
The sides expressed their readiness to continue bilateral political dialogue. The Botswana side reiterated its firm support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders.
"It is important that in accordance with the principles of international law, we have all the issues that are relevant for the bows and the Georgians, we have mutual understanding and support" - stated David Zalkaliani at the press conference after the meeting.
During the visit the Botswana delegation will meet with the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, the President of Georgia and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Hon Dr. Unity Dow will honor the memory of the warriors who died for the unity of Georgia and laid the wreath on the heroes’ memorial. The Botswana delegation will also visit Tserovani IDP settlement and occupation line near the village of Khurvaleti.
