David Zalkaliani has met with Bridget Brink

18.12.2017, Washington - Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani held a meeting with Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink, on 15 December 2017.
 
The aim of the meeting was to summarize the bilateral Georgia-U.S. relations and set plans for the future.
 
The sides assessed the past year as highly successful especially in terms of the new administration’s political and practical support for Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic course and reforms. It was reaffirmed that from the very outset of Trump’s presidency, Georgia was one of the first countries to establish and further reinforce high-level contacts with the new administration of the U.S.
 
The sides highlighted the firm and unequivocal support of the U.S. President, Vice President, Secretaries of State and Defence for the development and progress of Georgia as the region’s leader, and for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. 
 
The sides also spoke about the results of the NATO and OSCE ministerial meetings and the Geneva Inetnational Discussions.

A meeting of the U.S.-Georgia Strategic Partnership Commission Working Group on People-to-People and Cultural Exchanges was held on 15 December where the parties discussed bilateral projects in the areas of education, culture, healthcare, youth and sport, as well as strategic communications.
 
Members of the working group highly appraised the projects envisaging engagement with the population living in the occupied territories.
