David Zalkaliani has met with the Interior Minister of the Kingdom of Spain

25.01.2019, Madrid – Successful co-operation between the law-enforcement authorities of Georgia and Spain was highlighted during the meeting between the Georgian Foreign Minister, David Zalkaliani and the Minister of the Interior of the Kingdom of Spain, Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
Grande-Marlaska recalled with satisfaction examples of effective co-operation with Georgian law-enforcers and highly appraised, in this context, the activities of police attachés in Georgia and Spain.

The sides paid special attention to the declaration due to be signed between the Georgian Criminal Police and the Spanish Civil Guard at the level of interior ministers of the two countries.  
Speaking about Georgia’s progress on the path of European integration, David Zalkaliani brought to the attention of Grande-Marlaska Georgia’s high-level dialogue with the EU and the country’s substantial involvement in ensuring international security.

The Interior Minister of Spain praised Georgian government’s efforts regarding implementation of the readmission agreement as well as prevention of the increase in the number of asylum seekers to the EU countries since Georgia was granted with visa free regime.

At the end of the meeting David Zalkaliani invited Fernando Grande-Marlaska to Georgia.
