David Zalkaliani will participate in the high-level week of the UN General Assembly

23.09.2019, New York – Georgian Foregn Minister David Zalkaliani is in New York where he will attend the high-level week of the UN General Assembly.

Within the framework of the visit, the Minister will take part in the high-level events on the sidelines of the General Debates, and will also hold bilateral meetings with his colleagues.  
David Zalkaliani will attend the UN Climatic Change Summit. He will also participate in the Meeting of the Trans-Atlantic Foreign Ministers by invitation of the US State Secretary Mike Pompeo where Georgia has been invited as a successful aspirant country.
The head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry will participate in the following events:
High-level event scheduled in the framework of the initiative launched by the European Union “Good Human Rights Stories”. Georgia is one of those world’s 13 countries which were invited to the above initiative last year as a successful reformer; GUAM Ministerial (Organization for democratic and economic development); Meeting with the political directors of the foreign ministries of EU member countries.
Meeting of the Georgian delegation with the UN Secretary General is also scheduled.
The Georgian delegation will also participate at the Conference on the treaty for the prohibition of testing of the nuclear weapons, also at the high-level event in the framework of the “Community of Democracies”, at the “Black Sea Economic Cooperation” (BSEC) Ministerial, at the Caspian Business Forum, at the high-level meeting on the innovative funding for the realization of the sustainable development goals and at other high-level events.
