David Zalkaliani has met with his Lithuanian counterpart, Linas Linkevičius

03.04.2019, Washington - Within the framework of the NATO Ministerial Meeting, the Georgian Foreign Minister met with his Lithuanian counterpart. Highlighting the excellent friendship between the two countries, David Zalkaliani and Linas Linkevičius reaffirmed that Georgia enjoys Lithuania’s unequivocal support for its European and European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
The Ministers positively appraised Georgia’s participation in the side events in Washington and other capitals held on the sidelines of the NATO Foreign Ministerial.
Highlighting Georgia’s important role in strengthening the Black Sea security, the sides stressed that Black Sea security is one of the key issues on the agenda of the NATO Foreign Ministerial Meeting and the Alliance considers the possibility of deepening co-operation with Georgia and Ukraine.
The sides noted with satisfaction Georgia’s progress on NATO integration path and very active dynamics of Georgia-NATO relations, including the exchange of high-level visits over the recent period. Georgia’s important contribution towards ensuring Euro-Atlantic security and Georgia’s participation in NATO-led peacekeeping missions was also highlighted.  The Georgian side thanked Lithuania for the practical assistance it renders to Georgia, in parallel to political support.  While on the theme of bilateral relations, the sides expressed their readiness to further continue high-level bilateral meetings and the exchange of visits.
