David Zalkaliani has met with the Marshal of the Senate

24.10.2018, Poland –  Within the framework of his visit to Poland, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Davit Zalkaliani held  with the Marshal of the Senate, Stanislaw Karczewski.
 Discussions focused on the strong inter-parliamentary relations to which attests the partnership agreement signed in 2017 between the legislative bodies of the two countries, as well as the establishment of the parliamentary assembly which will be signed in November, during the Sejm Marshal’s visit to Georgia. Positive appraisal was given to the activities of the two parliamentary groups of friendship.
The sides highlighted Poland’s special role in the EaP and Georgia’s leading position in this format. Special note was taken of Georgia reforms within the margins of the European agenda and of Poland’s support for Georgia’s integration with NATO.

Zalkaliani updated the Marshal of the Senate on the difficult security and humanitarian situation, Russia’s steps towards annexation of Georgian territories and Georgia’s peace policy, including the initiative: “A Step Toward A Better Future”.
The sides reaffirmed their readiness to further develop bilateral relations in various areas, including economics, education, culture and people-to-people contacts.
