The Ambassador of the Republic of India has presented Copies of his Credentials to David Zalkaliani

8.11.2019 Tbilisi - David Zalkaliani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia hosted the new Ambassador of the Republic of India to Georgia (with Residence in Yerevan) Mr. Kishan Dan Dewal. The Ambassador presented copies of his credentials to the Minister.

At the meeting, the parties discussed various aspects regarding the bilateral and multilateral relations between Georgia and India, as well as perspectives of further cooperation. They agreed that collaboration between the two countries is developing dynamically. The significance of using the potential of political and economic partnership was especially highlighted. The importance of activating contacts between the business communities and interpersonal communications was also accentuated at the meeting. The Minister strongly focused on the completion of the negotiations regarding the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Georgia and India, which is to contribute to the further expansion of the bilateral trade. The parties noted that cooperation in the fields of culture and education is of vital importance for the two countries to become even closer.
At the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction on the successful collaboration of Georgia and India in the multilateral formats, especially regarding the support of each other’s initiatives at different international organizations.
The Ambassador of the Republic of India expressed his gratitude to the Minister for the support at international organizations.
The Minister wished success to the Ambassador of India in future and expressed hope that during his term of office the fruitful partnership between the two countries will become even stronger.
