“Just like Germany reunited 27 years ago, on 3 October, Georgia will also achieve peaceful reunification” - Mikheil Janelidze

02.10.2017, Tbilisi – Georgian Vice Premier, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze congratulated the German people on the day of reunification when speaking before the audience attending the reception organized by the German Embassy to Georgia.
 
Highlighting the importance of Georgia-Germany bilateral relations, Mikheil Janelidze emphasized that Germany has been one of the key donors and supporters of Georgia’s democratic development and European and Euro-Atlantic integration since its restoration of independence. Mikheil Janelidze also reaffirmed that Germany was one of the first countries to recognize Georgia’s independence and to open its diplomatic mission in Georgia. “Close co-operation and political links with Germany are of great importance, to which attests the Georgian Prime Minister’s visit to Germany shortly after the elections and his meeting with the Federal Chancellor of Germany.
 
Along with other factors, the Georgian Vice Premier paid special attention to the political and symbolic importance of the reunification of Germany. “Just like Germany reunited 27 years ago, on 3 October, Georgia will also achieve peaceful reunification through the support of such partners as Germany and will thus be able to contribute to the security and development of Europe” – Mikheil Janelidze said.
