Mikheil Janelidze has met his Albanian colleague

1.03.2017, Geneva – On the sidelines of the 34th session of the UN Human Rights Council, Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met his Albanian counterpart, Foreign Minister  Ditmir Bushati.
 
The two Ministers spoke about cooperation between the two countries in various areas including culture, business, people-to-people contacts.

Mikheil Janelidze provided his colleague with information regarding the Georgian Government’s priorities in the process of reforms. The Albanian Foreign Minister congratulated Georgia on the successful finalization of the visa liberalization. According to him, Albania is considering the possibility of visa-free travel with Georgia in the near future.

The Georgian Foreign Minister thanked his Albanian colleague for successful co-operation within the framework of NATO and for Albania’s active participation in the implementation of the Substantial package.
The sides also spoke about the possibility of introducing direct flights between Georgia and Albania.
 
The Albanian reaffirmed its strong support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
 
On closing, Mikheil Janelidze invited his colleague to Georgia.
