Mikheil Janelidze has met Moldovan Prime Minister, Pavel Filip

10.07.2017, Chișinău – Prospects for further co-operation between the two countries were on the agenda of talks between the Georgian Foreign Minister and the Moldovan Prime Minister. Mikheil Janelidze conveyed to Pavel Filip Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili’s best regards reaffirming that the Georgian Prime Minister is personally interested in developing Georgia-Moldova co-operation in all strategic areas.
The sides spoke about the increasing level of relations between the two countries focusing on the importance of holding the first inter-governmental economic commission and political consultations between the foreign ministries of Georgia and Moldova. Special attention was paid to the possibilities of expanding trade-economic relations. The sides welcomed the growth of trade turnover between the two countries as well as Moldova’s rising interest in Georgia’s tourism potential.
The Georgian Foreign Minister brought to the attention of Pavel Filip the four-point plan of reforms launched by the Georgian Prime Minister. Mikheil Janelidze paid special attention to Georgia’s liberal economic and investment environment and the country’s transit opportunities. He invited the Moldovan Prime Minister to attend the Tbilisi Road and Belt Forum to be held within the framework of the Silk Road in Tbilisi Project.

The sides expressed their readiness to closely co-operate in implementing the shared goals and interests of Georgia and Moldova, including, in particular, European aspirations of the countries.
The Moldovan Prime Minister expressed his interest in benefiting from Georgia’s experience in successful reforms in the sectors of public administration, civil services and tax systems.
