Mikheil Janelidze has delivered his remarkes at the conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Tbilisi State University

“I am greatly honoured to congratulate you on this anniversary date, which marks 100 years since the beginning of a new and exceedingly important stage in the centuries-long history of our country – a development that is referred to as the restoration of Georgia’s mental sovereignty.

Tbilisi State University has made a tremendous contribution towards the formation of a new generation infused with democratic ideas. Today Georgia makes a comeback to the family, to which it has been aspiring historically, and in which these values are embodied.

I am confident that Tbilisi State University will traditionally remain at the forefront of the ongoing processes and will play a prominent role in establishing new standards” - Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze said speaking before the  representatives of state and religious institutions from Georgia and other countries who attended the conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Tbilisi State University.

TSU was founded in 1918 in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi by famous Georgian scientist Ivane Javakhishvili.
