Mikheil Janelidze has participated in the forum dedicated to the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the U.S.

29.04.2017, Tbilisi – On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the U.S., the U.S. Embassy to Georgia organized a forum which was opened by President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly.
 
Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze also attended the forum and spoke before the attending audience.

In his speech Mikheil Janelidze highlighted the importance of Georgia-U.S. strategic partnership and the United States’ support for Georgia’s democratic development. According to the Minister, stability is the main achievement of Georgia on this path. Stability is what helps Georgia in its pursuit of the foreign policy goals.

“Today we celebrate the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the United States. These 25 years have been decisive for our country. It is these bilateral relations and the firm support from the United States that have formed Georgia as a democratic state firmly pursuing its European and Euro-Atlantic integration path – a path, which leads each of our citizens to freedom” – Mikheil Janelidze said when speaking to journalists.

The forum dedicated to the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the U.S was attended by former U.S. ambassadors to Georgia, representatives of the executive and legislative branches of the Georgian government, members of the opposition parties and journalists.
