Mikheil Janelidze attended official reception held on the occasion of 94th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey

30.10.2017, Tbilisi - The Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze attended official reception held on the occasion of 94th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. The reception was hosted by Turkish Ambassador Zeki Levent Gümrükçü who is due to complete his term of office in Georgia.
 
 
Speaking before the audience Mikheil Janelidze highlighted the strategically friendly relations between Georgia and Turkey. According to him, Georgia and Turkey are strategic partners not only by their Geographic location but also by their common goals and visions.
 
Mikheil Janelidze emphasized the importance of the Georgia-Turkey High-level Strategic Cooperation Council. He also spoke about the important role Georgia and Turkey play in ensuring energy security. In this context Mikheil Janelidze took special mention of the opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway.
 
Mikheil Janelidze thanked Zeki Levent Gümrükçü for his contribution to the development of friendly relations between the two countries and to the implementation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway project and the TANAP project. The Georgian Foreign Minister wished Zeki Levent Gümrükçü success in his future activities.
