According to Mikheil Janelidze, Johannes Hahn sent out important messages on Georgia’s European perspective

According to Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze, European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, during his visit to Georgia, sent out important messages regarding Georgia’s European perspective.

According to Mikheil Janelidze, the decision to hold the Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels is a political decision reaffirming that not only East European but also West and Central European countries are closely interested in co-operation with the Eastern Partnership countries.
“Priorities of the Eastern Partnership are fully in line with the Georgian Government’s goals and priorities in the development area. The EU has a very clear vision of the steps that need to be taken to bring not only Georgia but also all the six countries of the Eastern Parnership closer to the EU” – Mikheil Janelidze said.

The Minister also highlighted Johannes Hahn’s statements about Georgia’s European perspective: “The EU highly appreciates Georgia’s ambitions within the framework of the Eastern Partnership, describes our reforms as impressive and sees Georgia as a role model of success and a bearer of European perspective”.

According to Mikheil Janelidze, the key message of the European Commissioner’s statements is that Georgia must keep on the path leading it to its ultimate goal.
