The Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister has met the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities

14.07.2017, Batumi - Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani held a meeting with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Henrik Villadsen.

Discussions focused on Georgia’s co-operation with independent institutions of OSCE, including with HCNM. David Zalkaliani OSCE High Commissioner with detailed information regarding the grave situation in Georgia’s occupied territories. The First Deputy Minister said that the illegally erected razor wires and other artificial obstacles along the occupation line further aggravate the already difficult situation of the local population.

David Zalkaliani also spoke about the occupation regime’s so-called law on foreigners according to which local residents are declared as foreigners in their own terrotiry and are forced to obtain residence permits.
The sides agreed to further continue co-operation.
