The Presidential Council – Bosnia and Herzegovina support Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

05.03.2018, Sarajevo – Within the framework of his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with representatives of the Presidential Council.
 
Taking special note of the friendly relations between the two countries, the sides reaffirmed the great importance of exchanging high-level visits. It was stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina support Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and the peaceful resolution of the conflict. Speaking about the visit of the Tskhinvali occupation regime’s representatives to Serbska, it was highlighted that the central government of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the Foreign Ministry, were not notified of this visit and a note was issued following this incident whereby the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed its support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its friendly and partner relations.

Members of the Presidential Council reaffirmed their support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration path and expressed their interest in in expanding co-operation between the two countries in the areas of trade, economy, tourism and people-to-people contacts. The importance of introducing charter flights between Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was also highlighted.
 
Talking points also included Georgia’s NATO integration process and Georgia’s important contribution to the international peacekeeping missions.
