American congressmen visited the occupation line in the village of Odzisi

8.11.2019 – The co-chair of the House Georgia Caucus, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) Congressman Alex Mooney [R-WV2], visited the occupation line in the village of Odzisi, Gori municipality, within the framework of their visit to Georgia. They were accompanied by representatives of the Georgian Foreign Ministry and Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the U.S. Giorgi Tsikolia.
 

The congressmen received detailed information regarding the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories, as well as on problems facing the local population as a result of occupation. The Congressmen once again reaffirmed the U.S. firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and condemned the occupation regime’s activities that lead to dire humanitarian consequences on the ground.   They also stated that Georgia should become a member of NATO.
 
During their stay in Georgia Adam Kinzinger and Alex Mooney visited the Rehabilitation Centre for Georgian servicemen.
