Diplomatic Relations between Georgia and the Republic of India were established on September 28, 1992.

Bilateral Relations Cooperation within the framework of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation program (ITEC) and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). In 1996 Togo Tskhomaria was appointed as Trade and Economic Representative of Georgia in India. In 2001 Georgia appointed Honorary Council of Georgia to India Kuldip Singh Dhingra.
