Relations between Georgia and the Republic of India

 

Diplomatic Relations between Georgia and the Republic of India were established on September 28, 1992.

 

Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Georgia:

Rajendra Rai Kumar (1995-1997) (with residence in Kyiv)

Vidya Bhushan Soni (1997-2002) (with residence in Kyiv)

Deepak Vohra (2002- 2005) (with residence in Yerevan)

Reena Pandey (2005 till date) (with residence in Yerevan)

 

Bilateral Relations

Cooperation within the framework of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation program (ITEC) and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

In 1996 Togo Tskhomaria was appointed as Trade and Economic Representative of Georgia in India.

In 2001 Georgia appointed Honorary Council of Georgia to India Kuldip Singh Dhingra.

 

Trade Relations between Georgia and the Republic of India in 2006:

Trade turnover:                     20 521 700 USD

Export from Georgia:          8 685 100 USD

Import to Georgia:               11 836 600 USD

Trade balance:                       3 151 500 USD
