Georgia has become an associated member of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries
On the 23rd of July 2014, at the 10th summit of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) held in Dili, the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Georgia, along with Turkey, Japan and Namibia, was granted a status of associated member of the Community; while Equatorial Guinea has joined the organization as a member.

The delegation of the Georgian Foreign Ministry led by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr Davit Jalaghania paid a visit to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste from the 22nd to the 24th of July 2014 where they took part in the 10th summit of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) in Dili.

The 5th Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministerial meeting was held in Brussels

The 5th meeting of the Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministers was held in Brussels on the 22nd of July 2014. The meeting was chaired by the European Union's (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs & Security Policy, Ms Catherine Ashton, and was attended by the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, Mr Štefan Füle; the foreign ministers of the EU member states and of the six "Eastern Partnership" countries; other high-ranking officials; and representatives of the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The Georgian delegation was headed by the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze.
