Republic of Guatemala

A citizen of Georgia planning to travel to the Republic of Guatemala is required to apply for a respective visa (tourist, business, or any other type of visa).

Visas are issued by the consular service of the Embassy of the Republic of Guatemala in Paris (French Republic), in Madrid (Kingdom of Spain), in Tel Aviv (State of Israel) or in Cairo (Arab Republic of Egypt).

A list of documents to be submitted to the consular service:

  • Visa application form;
  • 1 photo, 3X4, coloured, taken during the last 6 months;
  • Passport valid for the next 6 months;
  • Copy of passport;
  • Invitation/letter from the inviting person/organization indicating the purpose and duration of a trip;
  • A letter from the employer indicating the applicant’s position and salary (translated into English, Portuguese, French, Spanish or Russian and notarized);
  • Proof of financial support (e.g. bank account statement of the last 6 months, etc);
  • Fixed-date ticket; 
  • Gold fever vaccination certificate (translated into English/Spanish);
  • Hotel reservation;
  • Visa fee: 
    • $65 for multiple-entry visa;
    • $25 for single-entry visas;
  • Visa applicant is required to appear in person at the consular service of the Embassy, in compliance with the laws of Guatemala.

Note: After crossing the Guatemalan border a holder of Guatemalan visa has the right to travel visa-free to the following countries of Central America: El Salvador, Nicaragua and Honduras.

A citizen holding a visa or a permanent residence permit of the U.S., Canada or a Schengen State is not required to obtain a visa to enter and stay in the territory of the Republic of Guatemala for a period of up to 90 days.
