A citizen of Georgia planning to travel to Ireland is required to apply for a respective visa (tourist, business, or any other type of visa).

From June 9, 2017 Citizens of Georgia are required to obtain a transit visa if intending to travel to Ireland for the purposes of onwards transit to another country.

Visas are issued by the Consular Service of the Embassy of Ireland in Sofia (Republic of Bulgaria).

A list of documents to be submitted by the applicant in person to the consular service:

  • Invitation;
  • Visa application form at:
  • Passport valid for the next 6 months and its copy; 
  • 2 biometric photos taken during the last 6 months;
  • Travel insurance coverage of at least euro 30,000 (both original and copy);
  • Fixed-date ticket(an original ticket and a printed e-ticket);
  • If an invitation is submitted by a family member - a document indicating family relationship (for example a birth certificate with notarized translation; the consulate may require that such document be authenticated with Apostille);
  • Letter from the employer translated into English and notarized (indicating the applicant’s position, salary, duration of employment; the employer’s guarantee that the applicant will be restored to his/her position of employment after return to his/her country of origin);
  • Proof of financial support (e.g. the applicant’s employment income of the last 6 months, credit card and bank account statements);
  • Hotel reservation;
  • Visa fee: euro 60;
  • Minor (Parents’ consent granting permission for their minor child to travel to Ireland);
