The Georgian Foreign Minister has met with his Slovak counterpart within the framework of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly

Ilia Darchiashvili congratulated  Rostislav Kucher  on his appointment to the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs and expressed hope that the efforts of both countries will be directed towards strengthening the traditional friendship and partnership between Georgia and Slovakia.
Slovakia’s traditional support to Georgia was emphasized at the meeting. The Ministers reviewed Georgia’s European integration process and noted the importance of the European Council’s decision on this path.
The Ministers discussed the security environment in the region, including the situation in the occupied regions of Georgia, and highlighted Slovakia's significant contribution to the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia.
The Ministers also noted the successful cooperation within the framework of the United Nations. Ilia Darchiashvili thanked his colleague for co-sponsoring Georgia’s Resolution at the United Nations.
The Minister invited his colleague to visit Georgia.
