Ilia Darchiashvili has met with his Albanian colleague

Within the framework of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia met with his Albanian counterpart, Olta Xhaçka. The sides discussed the ways to develop and intensify  cooperation and high-level ties between Georgia and Albania, which is of particular importance considering Georgia's European aspirations.
The Ministers welcomed the European Commission's decision to grant Georgia a European perspective. In this context, they stressed the importance of sharing Albania's experience on the path to the European Union. The minister thanked his colleague for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia. Albania's political and practical involvement in Georgia’s NATO integration process was also noted.
While on the theme of bilateral relations, the sides focused their attention on the potential of cooperation in the fields of economy and tourism. Ilia Darchiashvili invited his Albanian colleague for an official visit to Georgia.
