Ilia Darchiashvili has met with the Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia, Alexander Vinnikov

On 14 July, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili held a meeting with  the Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia, Alexander Vinnikov.
 
The sides discussed main aspects of Georgia-NATO cooperation, the process of the country's integration into the alliance and the existing mechanisms, including Georgia’s Annual National Programme. Discussions also focused on the results of the 2022 NATO Summit in Madrid, the importance of the decisions adopted during the summit with respect to Georgia and the new strategic concept of NATO.
 
It was highlighted at the meeting that the decisions made at the NATO Madrid summit will have a positive impact on the process of Georgia's integration into the Alliance. Special attention was focused on the adoption of a set of tailored support measures for Georgia and on the need to reflect the relevance of the Open Door Policy and Georgia's membership perspectives in the new strategic concept of NATO.
 
The head of the NATO Liaison Office, Alexander Vinnikov, positively assessed Georgia’s  progress on integration into the alliance. The sides highlighted the importance of deepening NATO-Georgia interaction and speeding up the integration process.
