The Latvian Ambassador has presented copies of her credentials to Teimuraz Janjalia

On 20 September 2022, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Teimuraz Janjalia received the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia, Edite Medne, who handed over copies of her credentials to the deputy minister, after which an introductory meeting was held.
 
Teimuraz Janjalia congratulated the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia on his appointment and wished him success in his work.
 
Within the framework of the meeting, the sides discussed the current agenda of relations between Georgia and Latvia. Special attention was paid to the importance of regular political dialogue. Discussions focused on the prospects of deepening trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
 
Speaking about Georgia’s European integration, Teimuraz Janjalia emphasized the irreversibility of the reforms carried out by the country and informed the Latvian diplomat about Georgia’s progress on the path of European integration in terms of fulfilling the obligations on the association agenda and the European Commission’s recommendations. Amid the volatile security environment in the region, the sides emphasized the importance of the partners' support to the priorities of Georgia's foreign policy.
 
Edite Medne emphasized Latvia's unwavering support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for its European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and expressed the readiness to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
