Lasha Darsalia has delivered a speech at the event “High Impact Initiative (HII) on 'FutureGov - Building Public Sector Capabilities for the Future”

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lasha Darsalia, delivered a speech at the event organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in New York – “High Impact Initiative (HII) on 'FutureGov - Building Public Sector Capabilities for the Future”.

In his speech, Lasha Darsalia spoke about the progress achieved onthe transformation of the public sector at the national level and shared with the audience Georgia’s good practice and successful experience in this regard.

As the First Deputy Minister noted, over the years, Georgia has transformed into a progressive and advanced state that is committed to the principles and values under the UN Charter and the 2030 Agenda.

According to him, Georgia has taken important measures to strengthen the public administration system. Special attention was focused on the Public Administration Reform (PAR), which aims to establish a transparent, accountable and efficient public administration.

As part of the reform, since 2015, important initiatives have been introduced in Georgia, which not only increased the efficiency of public administration, but also accelerated the progress and development of the country.

In his speech, Lasha Darsalia thanked the UNDP and the United Kingdom government, as well as the European Union, for supporting the reform of public administration in Georgia and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
