Maka Botchorishvili has met with Serbia’s Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade, Jagoda Lazarević

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, held a meeting with the Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Serbia, Jagoda Lazarević, who visited Tbilisi to attend the inaugural ceremony marking the launch of direct air travel between the capitals of Georgia and Serbia.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed key priorities for enhancing bilateral trade and economic cooperation. In this context, the signing of the air services agreement was recognized as a significant step forward. It was noted that the establishment of direct flights between Tbilisi and Belgrade will contribute to the further strengthening of business ties and people-to-people contacts, as well as to the increase in passenger flows and the development of new tourism routes.

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of sharing experience and fostering closer cooperation between the respective government institutions and business communities of both countries, particularly in the fields of trade, tourism, and information technology. The sides also discussed the possibility of convening the second session of the Georgia–Serbia Intergovernmental Economic Commission.

The Georgian side welcomed Serbia’s decision to open an embassy in Tbilisi, considering it a step that will further solidify the friendly relations between the two countries.

The parties also exchanged views on future steps to deepen cooperation in the context of European integration.
