Global Coalition Against Daesh/ISIS Ministerial Meeting was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 8 June 2023.
First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Lasha Darsalia, participated in the ministerial meeting. The ministerial meeting was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and the U.S. Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken.
In his speech, the First Deputy Minister focused on Georgia's active contribution to ensuring global security over the years, as well as Georgia's direct involvement in and support for the activities of the Coalition.
As the First Deputy Minister noted, despite the security challenges facing the world, the fight against terrorism and extremism remains the top priority for the international community. In this regard, he drew special attention to the actions taken by the Georgian authorities for the prevention of threats of terrorism.
Lasha Darsalia also spoke about the situation in the occupied regions of Georgia, including the lack of international monitoring mechanisms on the ground.
In his speech at the ministerial meeting, he once again confirmed Georgia's readiness to contribute to the process of world peace in the future in coordination with its partners.
