Ilia Darchiashvili has met with his Serbian Counterpart

As part of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Djuric.

The ministers discussed the current state of cooperation between Georgia and Serbia, as well as ongoing issues. Both sides welcomed the upcoming 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which will be celebrated next year, emphasizing that this milestone presents an excellent opportunity to inject new momentum into their bilateral relations.

The conversation also touched upon the development of trade, economic ties, and people-to-people connections. The ministers reaffirmed their mutual respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries. Additionally, they highlighted the importance of cooperation and knowledge-sharing, especially in the context of their countries' aspirations for European Union integration. The discussion also covered the security environment in the region, with both parties underscoring the need for close cooperation to address existing challenges.
