The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia, Andrew Kalindra, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, to discuss Lithuania's position and actions regarding ongoing processes in Georgia and the Transparency Law.
The Georgian side conveyed to the ambassador that recent statements by Lithuanian officials, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister's participation in a protest, and the summoning of the Georgian ambassador to Lithuania over the transparency law constitute gross interference in Georgia's internal affairs. They emphasized that such actions are incompatible with the traditionally friendly and partnership relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, both parties expressed the hope for a return to a positive agenda in bilateral relations. The foreign ministries of both countries affirmed their readiness to continue working on their current cooperation agenda.
