Ilia Darchiashvili met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Constantinos Kombos within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. The sides welcomed the close friendly relations between the countries.
Cyprus' support for Georgia's European integration agenda was especially emphasized, and in this regard, the close cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries was positively assessed. The minister informed his colleague about the process of Georgia's implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission and the progress achieved by the country in implementing legislative and institutional reforms after gaining the European perspective.
The ministers positively assessed Georgia-Cyprus cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including Cyprus' support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity in various formats.
The sides also reviewed the prospects of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields and expressed their readiness to actively cooperate in this direction.
