The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili has met with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi 

Discussions focused on Georgia's successful cooperation with the UN High Commissioner's Office and the important projects that the organization implements in Georgia to improve the condition of internally displaced persons. High appraisal was given to the Georgian Government’s policy to improve the social and humanitarian situation of IDPs. 

The High Commissioner positively evaluated the Georgian government’s policy to receive Ukrainian refugees, which is very important considering the severe humanitarian situation that has been created in the world amid the war in Ukraine. The sides reviewed the current situation in the occupied regions of Georgia and noted the important role of the United Nations in the process of implementing the peace policy.
