Ilia Darchiashvili has met with his Finnish counterpart, Elina Valtonen

As part of the ongoing NATO summit in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, met with his Finnish counterpart, Elina Valtonen.

The ministers highly appraised the main issues of cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral formats and talked about the prospects for further strengthening the relationship.

Special attention was paid to Georgia’s  European and Euro-Atlantic integration process. Ilia Darchishvili informed his colleague about the progress on the implementation of the European Commission’s recommendations. Special note was taken of Finland's political and practical support for the implementation of the country's foreign policy goals.

In the context of joining NATO, a positive assessment was given to the Vilnius summit and the important messages of support conveyed to Georgia.

Elina Valtonen once again confirmed her support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, as well as for the country's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Ilia Darchiashvili invited Elina Valtonen to visit Georgia.
