On 14 August 2023, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia, Meline Arakelian, presented copies of her credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili.
The Deputy Minister congratulated the Dutch diplomat on the start of her diplomatic mission in Georgia and wished her success in her future activities.
At the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of the existing friendly and partnership relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which are characterized by increasing dynamics both at the bilateral level and within the framework of international organizations.
The sides emphasized the leading role of the Netherlands as an investor in Georgia.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the issue of Georgia's accession to the European Union. The deputy minister informed the Dutch diplomat in detail about the progress achieved by Georgia in this direction.
The sides also talked about the situation in the region and the challenges facing Georgia.
The Dutch diplomat emphasized that the Netherlands is an unwavering supporter of Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
At the end of the meeting, the sides confirmed their readiness to further strengthen political, economic and sectoral cooperation between Georgia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
