A Georgian delegation, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the inauguration ceremony of the President of Mexico. Claudia Sheinbaum's inauguration took place in Mexico City, attended by high-ranking delegates from 105 countries and 22 international organizations, including heads of state from 16 countries and foreign ministers from 20 countries.
As part of the inauguration ceremony, an introductory meeting was held during which the Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated President Sheinbaum on behalf of the Georgian government and the people of Georgia on her electoral victory and wished her success in her future endeavors. The friendly and partnership relations between Georgia and Mexico were highlighted, and it was expressed that these ties would deepen further during her presidency.
The President of Mexico thanked the Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs for attending the inauguration ceremony, noting that this would give a positive impetus to future cooperation between the two countries.
Ilia Darchiashvili also held an introductory meeting with Mexico’s Foreign Minister, Juan de la Fuente. The ministers positively assessed the relations between Georgia and Mexico, particularly emphasizing the importance of close partnerships to further strengthen regional ties. Ilia Darchiashvili underscored Mexico’s significant role in deepening the traditionally positive cooperation between Georgia and the countries of Central and South America. In return, Georgia's crucial role in strengthening connections in the Eastern European region and beyond was noted. The minister also thanked the Mexican side for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During the inauguration of the President of Mexico, Ilia Darchiashvili had the opportunity to meet with colleagues from Central and South American countries.
